The Compassionate Inquiry® Approach
Compassionate Inquiry® is a psychotherapeutic approach created by Dr. Gabor Maté over several decades while working with both patients and retreat participants. This approach gently uncovers and releases the layers of childhood trauma, constriction and suppressed emotion embedded in the body, that are at the root of mental and physical illness and addiction.
When clients perceive the therapeutic relationship as a safe container, compassion and curiosity allow them to acknowledge and examine the traumatic events that happened to them as children, recognise the beliefs they internalised, and feel the emotions they suppressed. This contributes to the healing process. Using Compassionate Inquiry, both the individual and therapist unveil the level of consciousness, mental climate, hidden assumptions, implicit memories and body states that form the real message that words both express and conceal. When we can release ourselves from the hold of these stories, a new way of being emerges, leading to spontaneity, choice, expansion and freedom.
Space to Feel with Compassion and Curiosity
I aim to provide a safe, compassionate, confidential space for you to explore your emotions on a deeper level. Although it can be intense work, this practice is client led, with time to unfold at your pace. You have total control over how far you want to go and can stop when it feels too much.
Sifting through personality traits and unconscious coping mechanisms, gives an insight into core beliefs that can make us react irrationally in certain situations. You may feel that you had a happy childhood and haven’t undergone any “big T” traumas, but you may also feel that there is something not quite right. CI can pull the thorn out from some places where you may have been stuck for a long time. Sitting with and even walking through emotions, rather than suppressing or avoiding them, can bring profound healing.
About My Training
I bring thirty years of practice in the yogic and meditative world, thirteen years of Andean energy work, and a multitude of trainings in various therapies. Inner work and healing has been a lifetime passion and has brought me a lot of real life experiences, that I hope will resonate with you.
I do recommend this therapy alongside counselling, yoga therapy, art therapy and other forms of healing. For best results, having a continual weekly session, helps to build up a rapport with me to feel safe enough to travel deeper.

Online Healing
